The National Council on Aging (NCOA) is re-introducing “Straight Talk for Seniors,” an information campaign designed to deliver factual information to older adults and the professionals who serve them on key policy concerns. Straight Talk for Seniors provides information for older adults, their families, caregivers, and the professionals who serve them on policy issues involving the Affordable Care Act (ACA), Medicaid, Medicare, and the Older Americans Act (OAA).
The NCOA first began this project in 2010 after the passage of the Affordable Care Act. The campaign sought to educate older adults about what the new healthcare law meant to them. As we move into 2017 and new Administration, serious policy debates are on the horizon that will affect older Americans and their families. Straight Talk for Seniors will be a tool to stay informed on the latest news, alerts, and advocacy opportunities around policy issues impacting older Americans.
