At some point in your life, an accident or illness could leave you unable to communicate with your healthcare providers about the types of medical treatment that you would or would not want to receive. You may need to rely on a designated individual to make decisions on your behalf. Advance care planning allows you to identify the person responsible for making these decisions and communicates your choices about the types of healthcare you would want.

This month’s “Doctor Is In” webinar will provide an introduction to advance care planning. We’ll discuss the importance of advance care planning within the LGBT community and learn about the process for determining and documenting our medical choices.
