THRIVERS is a monthly discussion group for people impacted by HIV that relies on the personal expertise within our communities to help one another get the most out of life and to take advantage of the opportunities before us.

This month we will be discussing Interpersonal Effectiveness. This session will include exercises to help improve the skills that make our social engagement more effective.

For those who may be unfamiliar with the exact phrasing, interpersonal effectiveness refers to the skills which help us to:

• Attend to relationships
• Balance priorities versus demands
• Balance the ‘wants’ with the ‘shoulds’
• Build a sense of mastery and self-respect
