December 10, 2022 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Join authors Alexandra Juhasz and Theodore (Ted) Kerr in conversation with BEBASHI founder Rashidah L. Abdul-Khabeer, RN, MHS, PhD, and writer and activist Abdul-Aliy A. Muhammad, moderated by Max Wagh. John Anderies, Director of the John J. Wilcox, Jr. Archives, will then give a tour of the Archives, highlighting specific collections relating to HIV/AIDS history. The event will use Juhasz and Kerr’s book We Are Having This Conversation Now:The Times of AIDS Cultural Production (Duke University Press, 2022) as a jumping off point for how to discuss HIV/AIDS in local contexts past, present, and future.

Masks will be required for attendees in both the conversation space and in the Archives.
