POSTPONED – LGBT Legal Clinic

May 2, 2020 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED DUE TO COVID-19.

Email David Griffith at dgriffith@lgbtei.org or call 215-720-9415 if you had been interested in participating and would like to be updated when this event is rescheduled.

All older adults should complete certain legal documents to ensure that your wishes are carried out if you become incapacitated or pass away. Having these documents in place, including a will, living will, disposition of remains, and medical and financial powers of attorney, will make sure that your decisions are respected should anything happen to you. At the LGBT Legal Clinic, you will learn about these aspects of legal planning and then meet one-on-one with an attorney to complete these important documents.

NOTE: Only simple wills – those which do not include real estate, multiple beneficiaries or issues of guardianship/children – can be prepared at this free clinic.  If your estate requires a more complicated will, we can refer you to a private attorney who can handle your specific will for a fee. Documents other than a will can still be prepared for you at no fee at this clinic.

Support for this program is provided by AIDS Law Project of Pennsylvania and the William Way Community Center.
